ree

The Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise has cast a new Blade actor in Marvel Zombies. Despite having announced it back at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Blade is still in development hell, with Marvel Studios still remaining committed to bringing the iconic hero to the big screen, but the character is set to return to TV this fall.

As per ComicBook.com, Todd Williams will voice Eric Brooks, also known as Blade Knight, in the upcoming Disney+ series. This role expands his presence in Marvel projects, as he previously voiced Rick Mason in the video game Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Marvel Zombies will premiere on September 24, 2025, and continue the events of Marvel’s What If…?, which first introduced audiences to the undead plague in the MCU. The series brings back David Harbour as Red Guardian, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel.

In an exclusive statement to ComicBook.com, showrunner Bryan Andrews teased, “All I can say is, blood will be spilled,” highlighting the series’ darker tone.

Williams joins the ensemble as Blade, a character long tied to hunting supernatural threats. His inclusion is notable in a story centered on a zombie outbreak. This marks Blade’s first appearance in Marvel animation connected to the MCU.

Alongside him, Hailee Steinfeld, Awkwafina, Randall Park, Dominique Thorne, and others will reprise their roles. Together, they form a wide-ranging lineup of heroes confronting the undead.

Beyond his Marvel work, Williams has voiced roles for DC. He portrayed Mongul and Metropolis citizens in Superman Returns: The Video Game. His experience across both Marvel and DC projects highlights his versatility as a voice actor.

Marvel Zombies originated in the comics, first appearing in Ultimate Fantastic Four. The concept later expanded into a series by Robert Kirkman and Sean Phillips. The Disney+ adaptation continues this legacy, placing familiar characters into a darker, horror-driven storyline.

Blade’s animated debut will arrive through Todd Williams’ performance.
