Matt Prokop’s Ex Claims She Suffered ‘Years of Abuse’ After Disney Actor Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Disney Channel star Matt Prokop's ex-girlfriend has broken her silence after the news of his shocking child pornography charge came to light.

Matt Prokop’s ex-girlfriend claimed she suffered “years of abuse” from the former actor after he was arrested on child pornography charges.

“After many years of abuse, the effects are still very real and continue to impact my life,” Prokop’s ex Lucy, who claims to be the alleged victim of the charges, told Page Six in a statement Sunday.

“Right now, I’m taking time to heal privately, with the support of close friends and family. Taking this time does not lessen the seriousness or harm of his actions,” Lucy, who was previously engaged to Prokop, added.

“Being young myself, I truly did not understand the severity of the case. Taking this time does not lessen the seriousness or harm of his actions.”

As Page Six previously reported, Prokop was arrested and is currently being held without bail following multiple charges, including alleged possession of child pornography.

TMZ reported that the “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” star, 35, was arrested and taken into custody on December 24, 2025, in Victoria County, Texas.

Prokop is also facing a charge of resisting arrest, as well as two counts of resisting arrest, search or transportation.

More than a decade ago, Prokop’s ex Sarah Hyland accused the former of verbal and physical abuse during their five-year relationship.

Per court docs obtained by Page Six in May 2014, the “Modern Family” actress, also 35, claimed Prokop slammed her into a vehicle and choked her during an argument.

After the “Geek Charming” co-stars broke up, Prokop allegedly threatened to kill Hyland’s dog and burn down her house.

She was subsequently granted a restraining order against her ex and Prokop was ordered to stay away from Hyland for three years.

After Prokop was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in 2024, Hyland revealed that she was still “triggered” by her past abusive relationship.

“[The PTSD stays] in that abused place of your soul, where you think it’s your fault the whole time and you could have done better, you could have gotten out sooner, you could have told people,” she told Variety at the time.

Hyland also admitted that she may never “be fully healed” from her abuse.
