MICHELLE VISAGE MAKES HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT DRAG RACE DOWN UNDER

As we race towards the end of Drag Race UK, and by the time we get to the end of Drag Race season 13, I’ll be eligible for AARP, Michelle Visage has made a huge announcement regarding Drag Race Down Under.

As some of you may or may not be aware, Ru, Michelle, and the judges (so far out comic Rhys Nicholson has been named as a judge) shot Drag Race Down Under in New Zealand instead of Australia, because apparently the Australian Parliament didn’t fight hard enough to allow the series to shoot in Sydney due to Covid restrictions.

Rose Jackson, a Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Council, let it be known that she had a problem with this.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is massively popular,” Jackson said from the floor of Parliament. “It’s not a case of they should have called us; we should have been calling them to say what can we do to keep this product in Sydney? How can we make this more attractive for you? The makeup artists, the costume designers, the set designers, the lighting designers, the performers, this was their moment to showcase on an international stage what they were doing and the New South Wales Government didn’t even lift a finger to try and keep that production in Sydney, embed streaming services in Sydney.”

Now that Drag Race Down Under has wrapped filming in New Zealand, Mama Ru’s partner in crime took to social media to announce that the Aussie and New Zealand queens vying for the Next Drag Superstar title will be RuVealed this Saturday, March 6 at Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade.

I have to give it up to Sydney for locking down Australia and handling this pandemic responsibly. Now they can get back to some kind of normalcy, while the Democrats in the US try to fix an issue our last idiot president tried to ignore.

I’m actually quite excited to see Drag Race Down Under, because quite frankly it seems all the Drag Race shows outside of the American ones are far more entertaining, a d Ru seems more engaged with the queens and judging (perfect example: season 2 of Drag Race UK).

This is also not the last we’ll see of Drag Race, with All Stars 6 premiering later in the Spring on Paramount+, as well as Drag Race UK season 3, Drag Race España, and Drag Race Canada season 2.
