Pose may be coming to a bittersweet end, but my girl MJ Rodriguez is staying booked and busy. The actor, who plays matriarch Blanca Evangelista on the groundbreaking FX series is set to star alongside Maya Rudolph on an upcoming half hour comedy series for Apple TV+ tentatively titled Loot.
Created and written by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, the series follows Molly (Rudolph), a woman whose seemingly perfect life is upended after her husband leaves her with nothing but $87 billion.
Rodriguez will play Sofia, the hard-working executive director of the non-profit funded by her absentee billionaire boss, Molly.
If you caught Pose season 2 where Rodriguez went toe-to-to with the legendary Patty LuPone, and the first two episodes of season 3, then you know she can definitely pull off comedy.
MJ is also featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s annual Pride issue, which is out now.
