Shortly after The New York Times and Hulu went viral over their Framing Britney Spears documentary, now Netflix is jumping on the bandwagon.
According to Bloomberg, filmmaker Erin Lee Carr, who specialized in true crime documentaries, is helming the film, which will dive further into the troubled pop star’s personal life and conservatorship.
No word on when the film will be released, but it should be noted that the Carr documentary was in the works long before the NYT documentary was released.
This isn’t the first time Netflix and Hulu have competed with dual documentaries, releasing docs about the Fyre Festival (IMO, the Hulu doc was better).
