During a Monday press conference, Zohran Mamdani was addressing the concurrence of several high-profile events taking place in the Big Apple when he seemingly also confirmed the singer's rumored wedding date.

Speaking to the city's preparedness for the July 5 match of the World Cup at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., just a quick train ride from NYC, Mayor Mamdani said he was "fully confident in the work of the NYPD" to provide a "safe experience" that holiday weekend.

"We are the biggest city in the country," he continued. "We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one."

But the mayor didn't stop there, as he listed the other "big events" scheduled for the three-day weekend in addition to the World Cup.

"We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding all happening at the same time," Mamdani said with a smile.

After some discussion about New York's "gang database" and its free Wi-Fi project, LinkNYC, another reporter asked an obvious follow-up question: "You did mention Taylor Swift's wedding. Have you been invited? Are you going?"

"No and no," Mayor Mamdani replied, laughing. "I wish them a lovely wedding. I'll listen to 'Only the Young' at home on my own," added the Democrat, referencing a deep cut from Swift's catalog, a protest song inspired by the 2018 U.S. elections and accusations of vote-tampering.

Mamdani's statement seemingly confirms the rumors that the Grammy winner and her fiancé Travis Kelce will say "I do" at Madison Square Garden over the Fourth of July weekend. The couple reportedly paid $3 million to rent the 820,000-square-foot arena for three days.

A representative for Swift did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment on Mamdani's wedding revelation.

Swift scoped out her possible wedding venue last week, when she sat courtside at Game 4 of the NBA Finals as the New York Knicks made a historic 29-point comeback to defeat the San Antonio Spurs.

Kelce was not in attendance, however, his fiancée was joined by two of the expected 1,000 wedding guests, sisters Alana and Este Haim of the Grammy-nominated band Haim.

Madison Square Garden — a paparazzi-proof venue due to its underground parking and windowless arena — is located in Midtown Manhattan, less than 10 blocks south from where the iconic Times Square Ball is scheduled to drop eight times over the course of the day on July 3 to celebrate midnight in every American time zone. The evening of July 4, the Macy's Fireworks Spectacular will also illuminate the city's East River and Hudson River.
