Wendy Williams gave her fans a first look at her upcoming biopic by premiering the trailer on her daytime talk show.

Titled Wendy Williams: The Movie, the film will spill all the tea – from her meteoric rise in radio as a controversial shock jock, her battle with addiction and her split from cheating husbanger Kelvin Hunter.

Wendy is an executive producer on the biopic, which stars Ciera Payton (The Oval, She’s Gotta Have It) and Morocco Omari (P-Valley, Empire).

Official description:

“Talk show host Wendy Williams executive produces the biopic on her life, revealing the highs and lows she has experienced throughout the years. Wendy has made herself the go-to source for great celebrity dish on her hit talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, but recently the spotlight has turned towards her. The authorized project provides a revealing look at Wendy’s journey, from her scrappy upstart days in urban radio to the success of her own syndicated talk show. Despite all the naysayers and obstacles Wendy encountered throughout her life, her strength and determination have allowed her to thrive.”

The script was written by Leigh Davenport (Run the World, Boomerang) and Scarlett Lacey (Magnum P.I., The Royals), and the TV movie was directed by Darren Grant (The Chi, God Friended Me).

The film, which premieres on January 30 will also be accompanied by a feature-length documentary titled ‘The Wendy Williams Story…What a Mess!’

I’ve been a Wendynista since her days at Hot 97, so we’ll see how “real” she keeps it when both the biopic and doc premieres next month.
