Today in Dancing With the Stars drama, there are reports that multiple pro dancers are threatening to quit the show due to feeling "disrespected."

A “rivalry” between newer dance pros and the show’s veterans has apparently been brewing on set, as “social politics” and “favoritism” have been growing factors behind the scenes.

In season 34 of Dancing With the Stars, four fan-favorite returning pros were the first to get the boot.

Longtime show stars Jenna Johnson, Britt Stewart, Brandon Armstrong, and Gleb Savchenko were the first four pro dancers cut this season after their partners were eliminated.

They were also paired up with older contestants, as Jenna danced this season with Corey Feldman, 54, Britt was with retired NBA player Baron Davis, 46, and Gleb was paired with Hilaria Baldwin, 41.

Brandon suffered a shocking elimination with Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui, 29, during the third results show.

Meanwhile, newer dance pros who have been hired more recently, such as Rylee Arnold and Ezra Sosa, have been paired with younger stars and still remain in the competition.

“There is tension brewing between the professional dancers. The vets are feeling overshadowed by the show’s newer, younger talent.

“And there have been passive-aggressive remarks on set. Some of the older pros are really getting fed up with the producers’ strategic partner preferences.

“Specifically, Jenna feels she was done dirty this season. Britt and Brandon feel the same way,” a production insider claimed.

“And those three, being so experienced and quite frankly, all very beloved, do not understand why newer talent like Rylee and Ezra get the younger, fan-favorite contestants.

“They feel disrespected by producers and it’s essentially set up a rivalry between new vs old pros.

“They don’t have anything personal against Rylee or any of the newer pros, it’s the system they are angry with,” the insider said.

The source added that things have gotten “so bad” that there are talks of Jenna and Brandon “wanting to quit” after this season.

“They are fed up with the favoritism and social politics of the show. They don’t deserve the treatment they’re getting and they know that.

“They are considering ending their contracts and walking away.

“Producers are trying to play it cool but if they’re not careful, they’re in danger of losing all of their legacy talent.”

KYM-POSSIBLE

More shakeups could be heading into the ballroom next season, including the return of a fan-favorite judge more full-time.

On last week’s episode of Dancing With the Stars, former pro Kym Johnson-Herjavec returned to the ballroom that made her famous – but this time, she sat in the judges’ chair.

Viewers were almost unanimous in praising Kym, 49, for her helpful critique, valid criticism, and uplifting feedback when judging Dedication Night on DWTS on Tuesday.

The response to Kym’s comeback was so overwhelmingly positive, the studio is already seeing what the options are for getting her back permanently.

“Fans can plan for a judges shakeup next season, and leading that charge is Kym, who blew everyone away as a judge this week.

“She has great relationships with production and the network, especially with her husband being very tied into ABC too, so they knew she would deliver.

“She has great relationships with production and the network, especially with her husband being very tied into ABC too, so they knew she would deliver.

“But she exceeded expectations. After the episode aired, she had everyone… pro dancers, contestants, studio execs, everyone, coming up to her to compliment her on her helpful critiques all night.

“She looks the part, she acts the part, and she’s beloved by everyone in the studio and all the fans at home.

“It’s a no-brainer to get her back. There’s already an active discussion to see how they can make it happen,” a show insider claimed.

Dancing With the Stars season 34 airs on Tuesdays at 8pm EST on ABC and is available to stream the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
