We are less than a week from the release of Kendrick Lamar’s fifth album Mr Morale and the Big Steppers, and the rapper has unleashed the audio and visual for his brand new track The Heart part 5.
Directed by Lamar and Dave Free, the video features the MC as he raps the lyrics to his song. Throughout the video the rapper’s face morphs into several deepfakes, including OJ Simpson, Will Smith, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Kanye West, and Nipsey Hussle. The lyrics often align with the person he’s resembling, discussing bipolar disorder when he’s West and murder when he’s the late Hussle.
The visual effects were top notch, and I have to say Kendrick’s deep, thought-provoking lyrics definitely stayed with me long after the song was over.
