Warner Bros. Sets Release Dates for ‘Final Destination 7’, ‘The Revenge of La Llorona’ & ‘Gladys’

Warner Bros. added a slew of titles to its release calendar in 2027 and beyond, including a “Weapons” prequel about Aunt Gladys and a slew of other horror titles.

Joining Evil Dead Wrath and Zach Cregger’s The Flood in Warner Bros’ 2027-2028 horror lineup are:

  • The Revenge of La Llorona is set for April 9, 2027.

  • Final Destination 7 will release on May 12, 2028.

  • Gladys has been scheduled for September 8, 2028.

The Revenge of La Llorona comes from director Santiago Menghini, who made his feature debut with the 2021 horror movie No One Gets Out Alive.

Jay Hernandez (Hostel), Monica Raymund, Edy Ganem (9-1-1), Martín Fajardo (Griselda), Acston Luca Porto (Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado), and Avie Porto (Bob Hearts Abishola) join returning actor Raymond Cruz (“Breaking Bad”, Alien: Resurrection) as curandero Rafael Olvera in the sequel.

The story sees the return of the vengeful spirit La Llorona, forcing a fractured family to confront their past and join forces with their estranged grandfather to battle ancient evils and stop the Weeping Woman before she claims their children forever.

Final Destination 7 will be written by Final Destination Bloodlines’ co-writer, Lori Evans Taylor. Up-and-comer Michiel Blanchart (Night Call) was recently reported to be in talks to helm.

And prequel Gladys aims to tell the origin story of the villain played by Amy Madigan in Weapons. While it remains to be seen whether the Oscar winner will reprise her role, Zach Cregger will write alongside Zach Shields (Krampus, Godzilla: King of the Monsters).
