WINNER’S LIST: 2020 MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS

In case you missed it, the 2020 MTV EMA’s aired virtually this past Sunday, and while there were some performances that transpired and electrified (Little Mix, Da Baby, Doja Cat, Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, David Guetta feat. Raye), there were also some awards given out.

Once upon a time (not long ago), I used to live for the EMA’s, because you would discover a plethora of global talent in one room performing on the same stage. The EMA’s is where I fell in love with Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Bjork, and too many more to list here.

Now award shows have become one big circle jerk of celebrating mediocre American pop “artistry” and selling it to a global market.

For example: When you look at the nominees for Best Virtual Live, singer Roisin Murphy should have been nominated and given the win because her @home performances on YouTube are everything.
