Diddy's Prison Release Date Moved Up Again Despite Recent Fight

Prison can't even hold Diddy down ... 'cause it looks like his release date has been moved up again!

The disgraced mogul—who was recently sent to solitary confinement following a fight with a fellow inmate—had his release date changed from Feb. 23, 2028 to Jan. 24, 2028, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records viewed by E! News.

Combs is currently serving a four-year prison sentence for prostitution-related charges.

The new change marks the fifth time Combs' release date has been updated as he was initially set to be released on May 28, 2028 during his sentencing. The date was later pushed to June 4, 2028 before moving again to April 25, 2028. It was then updated again to April 15, 2028 before moving to February and now January.

The news comes less than a week after the 56-year-old was moved to solitary confinement at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey for his involvement in an altercation at the prison, according to multiple outlets citing sources with knowledge on the matter.

The fight allegedly broke out when another inmate made a remark to Combs, one source told ABC News.

However, a rep for the low-security prison explained they would not be providing additional details about the incident.

"We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody," the spokesperson said in a July 24 statement to TMZ. "Such information would not be available for the public domain."

The Bad Boys Records founder was transferred to the New Jersey prison from New York's Metropolitan Detention Center in late October. He was sentenced to 50 months in prison after a New York jury found him guilty, under the Mann Act, on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. (He was acquitted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.)

While still in prison, Combs sold his house on Miami’s Star Island for $55 million in early July. The home sits next to the rapper’s other Miami residence, which was raided by federal agents in March 2024.

During the raid, authorities seized more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, as well as "various Freak Off supplies, including narcotics," according to court documents unsealed following Combs' September 2024 arrest.

“During Freak Offs, Combs distributed a variety of controlled substances to victims, in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant,” a federal indictment read. “Sometimes unbeknownst to the victims, Combs kept videos he filmed of victims engaging in sex acts with commercial sex workers.”

However, Combs’ legal team pushed back at the allegations, fighting for an appeal to overturn his conviction. In court filings obtained by CNN, his lawyers argued that the “Freak Offs”—which acted as the basis of his conviction, as he moved individuals across state lines to engage in the sex acts—should not be applicable under the Mann Act and instead should be considered amateur porn shoots.

“Freak-offs and hotel nights were highly choreographed sexual performances involving the use of costumes, role play, and staged lighting,” his counsel wrote in court documents, “which were filmed so Combs and his girlfriends could watch this amateur pornography later.”

Their filing continued, “Pornography production and viewing of this sort is protected by the First Amendment and thus cannot constitutionally be prosecuted. In other words, the term ‘prostitution’ in the Act should be limited to those situations where a paying customer engages in sex with the person being paid.”
