Drag Race Icon Laganja Estranja is Now ‘Entertaining the Idea’ of All Stars

After years of rejecting their invitation, it looks like a Drag Race icon may be entertaining the idea of competing on All Stars.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Ms. Laganja Estranja influenced the lexicon of queer people around the world, and the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise itself for seasons to come after appearing on season six of the show in 2014.

Since that season aired, nine instalments of All Stars have hit our TV screens – but the dancing diva has only appeared on All Stars 6 as a legendary lipsync assassin, instead of a competitor back for round two.

Laganja previously told PinkNews in 2024 that the only way she would only return to All Stars was as a choreographer for the girls – but it appears that she may have changed her mind…

“You know, actually, I’ve been … teasing it online, but the doll is thinking about going back. The time has come to free the t*t and live the Janet Jackson fantasy, I fear,” she told All Stars 2 winner Alaska Thunderf**k 5000 on the champ’s podcast Race Chaser.

After Alaska’s encouragement, Laganja continued: “We’ll see! I’m entertaining the idea, I’m floating it out into the universe. Sound off… if you want to see your ‘D’, ‘O’, double ‘L’ comeback and ‘D’, ‘A’, ‘N’, ‘C’, ‘E’.”

In 2024, the one and only Laganja Estranja said of an All Stars return: “The dream scenario is that I get to go back as a choreographer, and that I get to leave my mark on the franchise that way.

“That’s ultimately what would really make me happy, comfortable and also be more authentic and true to myself.”

Since appearing on the show, Laganja has publicly owned her truth as a trans woman, released music and continued to tour the globe; she returned for All Stars 6 as a guest for a now-legendary lipsync against Trinity K Bonet to Dua Lipa’s “Physical”.
