Over the weekend, Shaunie Henderson took to Instagram to share a video message with her fans. Furthermore, she shared that “‘Basketball Wives’ will not be returning.” Additionally, she thanked the production companies, castmates, and production teams who “helped bring this vision to life season after season.”
“Growth requires evolution and knowing when to honor a chapter while preparing for what’s next,” Henderson went on to say. “While this journey is concluding, I’m actively developing new projects that align with my personal and professional purpose…”
In her caption, Henderson added, “This isn’t an ending, it’s a transition. I’m stepping into a new season with exciting projects ahead that align with where I am personally and professionally. More to come.”

Instagram user @mrdizco wrote, “The only wife was Jackie. Lol. “Should’ve ended years ago. LHH / Baddies franchise should be next!”
While Instagram user @shoeluv_2 added, “@monascottyoung please take notes from @iamshaunie and do the same with LHHATL we tied of the same ol storylines that have dragged with the same cast members since 2016/2017… LET GO AND LET GOD ”
And finally Instagram user @march_ninety_three_ wrote, "Basketball wives could actually live on. If Shaunie and Evelyn and all those unmarried exes and girlfriends are not involved anymore. Instead have some real wives. Lebron James's wife , Kobe's widow, Stephen Cury's wife, some OG Michael Jordan's ,....It'll be good to see some real wives, their personalities, and see them live lavishly."
Additionally, Brittish Williams wrote:
“Thank you for the opportunities that were given throughout the years of being able to be apart of the show! It was a phenomenal era! And I’m forever grateful for the experience! @iamshaunie the next chapter is going to be soooooo great! Congrats to the future! ”
While Angel Brinks added:
“Thankful for the ups and downs, and appreciative for everyone who supported the show ”
Draya Michele wrote,
“Well Done ladies !!! Thank you for the opportunity Shaunie xoxo ️”
Furthermore, Michele even took to her Instagram Story to share another message.
As The Shade Room previously reported, ‘Basketball Wives’ last made major headlines when an episode aired showing Chantel Christie laying hands on her mom Jackie.
The jaw-dropping episode left Chantel speaking out and also sparked her apparently estranged sister, Takari, coming forward and speaking on Chantel and Jackie’s relationship.

I don't think the decision for Basketball Wives was a choice Shaunie wanted. This is probably VH1 since the ratings for that show have been slipping faster than Kim Kardashian's SKIMS whenever she comes in close proximity with a black rapper/athlete. I do agree that Love & Hip Hop, as well as those long in the tooth Housewives shows over on Bravo need to go, since it's basically the same boring drama regurgitated every season.
