Funk Flex will take over mornings at Hot 97 in the wake of Ebro in the Morning ending.

Radio Ink reports that MediaCo, the company that owns Hot 97, confirmed that Flex will be on during the day “until further notice,” starting on Dec. 15.

News of Flex’s new move comes after Ebro Darden made the shocking announcement that his long-running show, Ebro in the Morning, with Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez was coming to an end.

“It’s done. More to come. #EbroInTheMorning,” he wrote on X at the time.

Darden revealed more about his show ending in an Instagram Live session afterwards while sitting in his car.

“Told y'all a couple of weeks ago—when they try to run that Andrew Cuomo play on me. Remember that shit? And then they tried," he said. "You know, when the Trumpster got in office. Listen, man, I don't capitulate well, bro. I've been doing this too long. You look around all the major media outlets, look at all the major media outlets, man. All of them. Look at all of them.

"They all gotta fold up ’cause they all trying to renew their deals, their licenses. They all—well, in this particular situation, we’ll get into more specifics another time,” Darden continued. “Bro just got, bro’s a casino owner. You know those 3 licenses they got here in New York City for the casinos? The guy that owns the shit owns one of the casino licenses. He gotta raise $50 million, bro—half a billion dollars, excuse me. They need my shit-talking anti‑Netanyahu, anti‑government, progressive shit out the way, bro. They need me out of the way.”

Rosenberg wrote his feelings about the show ending with a post on X. “I lived out a childhood dream and it was amazing,” he wrote. “Very excited for what’s next #ebrointhemorning #reallate.”

Stylez shared a lengthy message to her former co-hosts on Instagram. “We had the best time,” she wrote. “The most beautiful listeners, and got to work with legends I love. I’m so proud of the work we did together…I lived so many of my dreams at Hot97 and got to work with my best friends!”

Ebro in the Morning had been running since 2012, when Darden returned to the morning time slot after previously taking part in the time slot from 2004 to 2007. A renamed version of the show appears to be moving to YouTube.
