Keke Palmer Wants to Follow in Jamie Lee Curtis’ Footsteps and Do More Horror Movies

Currently starring in the Peacock series The Burbs, KeKe Palmer, who is no stranger to the horror genre says that she wants to make more horror films.

Keke Palmer has been no stranger to the horror genre over the years, starring in “Scream Queens,” “Scream: The TV Series,” and of course Jordan Peele’s Nope. Palmer is back in the genre in the new Peacock series “The ‘Burbs,” an 8-episode mystery-comedy based on Joe Dante’s cult classic horror-comedy starring Tom Hanks. But what’s next from Keke Palmer?

If Keke Palmer has her way, what’s next will be a whole lot more horror!

Chatting with Variety on the red carpet at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, Palmer reveals that she’d love to follow in the footsteps of Jamie Lee Curtis in terms of a career in horror.

“I would love to do MORE horror,” Palmer emphatically states. “I’m talking like my Jamie Lee Curtis girl type of vibe. Like a full-on, Neve Campbell franchise… we need number two, three, four, five, six. I would love to be like Jamie Lee. She’s the most iconic scream queen. So if I could do a Halloween type situation, I would have so much fun with that.”

Palmer’s own pitch for a horror franchise she’d love to lead? A Valentine’s Day slasher saga!

The actress jokes, “A real mad ass bitch that had her heart broken in 1985, and she’s coming back to haunt all the wicked men of the day. She’s making all the men rue the day that they broke somebody’s heart. Now that’s actually good!”
