He joins recently cast Francesca Scorsese as Mrs. Smith. The two are not believed to be part of a pair the way fellow Season 2 cast additions Mark Eydelshteyn (Mr. Smith) and Talia Ryder (Mrs. Smith) are.
Details about the plot of Season 2, which started production in Los Angeles in April, are being kept under wraps. Season 1 leads Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are thought to be reprising their titular John Smith and Jane Smith roles, respectively; to what extent is unclear.
From co-creators and executive producers Glover and Francesca Sloane, Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a reimagining of the 2005 New Regency film. Glover is set to direct multiple episodes in Season 2 after helming the Season 1 finale.
Anna Ouyang Moench serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer alongside Glover for Season 2. Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Stephen Glover, Anthony Katagas and Fam Udeorji return as executive producers, joined by Erskine.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith earned 16 Emmy nominations for its first season in 2024, winning two statuettes.
Rogers is probably best known as the co-host alongside Bowen Yang of the popular podcast Las Culturistas. The duo also hosts the Las Culturistas Culture Awards, with the 2026 edition taped this past weekend to run on Bravo and Peacock June 17.
Rogers most recently recurred on the Netflix dark comedy series No Good Deed and Prime Video’s Overcompensating. He was part of the main cast of the Showtime comedy series I Love That For You. Rogers is repped by UTA, 3 Arts Entertainment and Schreck Rose Dapello.
