The Puerto Rican singer, whose real name is Jesús Manuel Nieves Cortés, has been widely recognized for hit collaborations with J Balvin, Bad Bunny (“Dákiti,” “Tarot,” “No Me Conoce” and more) and Kali Uchis, among several others. Up until 2019, he performed under the stage name Jhay Cortez.

The report reveals charges for possession of cocaine and marijuana under Cortés’ name, alongside a photo of his mug shot. He was arrested and booked at around 4:24 a.m. at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.

He was charged with cocaine possession of 20 grams or less of cannabis, with a bond set at nearly $3,000. That bond is listed as paid and submitted.

No further information has been revealed at this time. Representatives for Jhayco did not immediately return Variety‘s request for comment.

After a three-year hiatus following his 2021 album “Timelezz,” Jhayco released a full-length studio album — composed of 29 songs and featuring Yandel, DJ Khaled, Peso Pluma and more — in September titled “Le Clique: Vida Rockstar (X).” The record was co-written and co-produced by Jhayco alongside industry heavyweights such as Tainy, Haze and El Arma Secreta.

The record became his third top 10 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and also secured a No. 2 opening on the publication’s Latin Rhythm Albums chart. His most recent release was a single called “Bouncy” with Bryant Myers.
