Spanish Power Couple Javier Calvo & Javier Ambrossi (a.k.a. Los Javis) Split Up After 13 Years

Known collectively as Los Javis, writing, producing and directing duo Javier Calvo, 34, and Javier Ambrossi, 41, have ended their romantic relationship after 13 years together.

Together, the duo cocreated HBO Max's Veneno; appeared as regular judges on Drag Race España for five seasons, one All Stars edition, and guest spots alongside RuPaul Charles and Michelle Visage on RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars; and are currently working on a feature film starring Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close.

Ambrossi, 41, and Calvo, 34, "have ended their romantic relationship," El País reports, adding that the couple is committed to maintaining "all of their shared professional commitments," as well as current and future creative projects in the works.

One of those projects, La bola negra (The Black Ball), is a high-profile film starring Hollywood juggernauts like Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close, along with rising stars such as Guitarricadelafuente, Julio Torres, Carlos González, and Miguel Bernardeau.

The movie was cowritten, codirected, and coproduced in its entirety by Ambrossi and Calvo as creative partners — and a wrap party for the project had just been thrown for the cast and crew, as seen in the Instagram carousel below.

Los Javis have yet to comment on the split. On social media, Calvo has mostly re-shared posts from the wrap party, and Ambrossi's Instagram page appears to have been deactivated for the moment.

The same report by El País noted that "Calvo was alone at the La Revuelta meeting this Monday," which brought together pop star Rosalía and filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. Ambrossi, who's attended all kinds of events alongside Calvo for more than a decade, was noticeably absent from this legendary reunion between Spanish superstars in the entertainment industry.

"Sources indicate that, from now on, it will be increasingly common to see them separately," El País underscored.
