A sequel to the hit 2023 horror movie Thanksgiving has been delayed, but is still in the works, director Eli Roth revealed in an interview on the Talk Is Jericho podcast.

“With Thanksgiving 2, we are doing some polishes on the script,” he said.

“There was a kind of a second act issue that Jeff and I were having, we we just kept going going around circles trying to figure out how to how to get through it. And then actually another writer team had a really good idea and we’re like, ‘Oh, let’s let them come in and take a pass, because I think we’ve been we’ve kind of had our noses in it for two years, right?’”

“They love the franchise, they’re like, ‘We don’t want to change it. We love it. You guys have a brilliant sequel, but we think that we can you can this is the issue.’ And we’re like, ‘Ah, yeah.’ But that’s cool to collaborate with people with outside views…my theory has always been best idea wins,” he explained.

“The plan is for the script to get done this year and then for us to prep in the spring. I want to shoot it in the spring and that’ll be a studio movie,” he went on to say.
