Tyra Banks 'Faces Being Ditched' in Reboot of 'America's Next Top Model'

After receiving backlash from her stint in the Netflix docuseries Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model where she mentioned that she was looking to revive the long-running reality series for a 25th cycle, now comes word that the former model turned mogul may be on the verge of being fired from the reboot.

TV execs are considering a reboot of America's Next Top Model and may be more willing to pick up the reality contest without the diva who built it – Tyra Banks, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

"Networks love the name recognition," one television insider said. "But they think the show needs a softer, more modern face to lead it."

Bigwigs are eager to reintroduce the series to a younger audience after years of viral backlash over resurfaced clips showing harsh critiques and controversial challenges, sources explained.

"The brand still has huge value," another source noted. "But internally the feeling is that the next version should be more empowering – and less intimidating."

"Tyra's not interested in being pushed aside," a source said. "If they want the show without her, she's perfectly happy to walk away – and take her show with her."

Say what you want about Tyra, but she is the show. She created it and she has been the face for 23 cycles. Controversy aside if Tyra is omitted from the revival because of all the Gen Z post covid backlash from watching past episodes, then maybe create an entirely new show with a new name centered around the modeling world.

I just saw an article that the Victoria Secret Fashion show is coming back, and they are looking for a new angel. Maybe create a show around Victoria's Secret, where the winner of the show becomes an angel -- similar to the new Dancing With The Stars spin-off where the winner becomes a dancer on the next season of DWTS.
